Infant feeding

Stomach upset- anything I can do to keep supply up

Got food poisoning ( I think) at the MIL on Sunday. Am ebf so have been continuing to feed despite the fact that I feel rubbish. Took some Imodium yesterday after checking with Kellymom. I'm still being ill now and haven't eaten more than a bowl of rice since Sunday lunch. Is there anything else I should be doing to keep supply up?

How old is your DC? It's unlikely that food poisoning will massively affect your supply. The best thing you can do for your supply is just carry on feeding as normal, or as much as you feel you can.

Make sure you stay hydrated and eat if you can, just so that you don't end up feeling more crap than you already do. Much sympathy! Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Eau. DD2 is 9 weeks. She took an age to settle last night so I thought my milk may not have been as rich but then she slept six odd hours in a stretch so couldn't have been that hungry

Don't worry about the 'richness' of your milk, it'll be fine- what you eat and how much has next to no impact on the quality of your milk. The main reason to stay hydrated and fed is for your own health.
