Does anyone know if expressing cup on milk for my 3 yo daily would help him get over flu quicker?

wondering if it's worth my effort of expressing. It doesn't come very naturally to me, takes a while to get much. I'm breast-feeding my one year old, who also has flu. But my 3 yo seems really struggling with it. And thought he might benefit from the antibodies. Is a small cup daily enough to make much difference do you think?

I'm very rusty on the science of this but if I remember correctly the passive immunity that infants get from breast milk antibodies only lasts a few months after birth (until the intestinal lining seals?). So I don't think that it would help. :-( Just Calpol I suppose..

I would consider it too, I'm always offering to express for DH when he gets manflu because the offer stops him complaining.

The antibodies still do their thing even after the gut seals, the benefits last as long as a child is breastfed.

Thanks for replies. I gave him a cup about 6 months ago and he loved it - kept asking for more! May be the only downside!
