She gets on and feeds ok for a bit then comes off and starts waving her head around with her mouth open and the nipple in her mouth, then she clamps down and continues waving her head around, pulling back, pushing off the chair side with her feet, it's a miracle i still have nipples after this!
She doesn't do it every feed, but it's getting seriously painful now, my nipples are already battered from her latching problems, thrush etc and I am at the point of throwing in the towel tbh.

Forgot to mention she also has reflux, seems worse at certain times of day, I've already cut out caffeine, reluctant to go dairy free as I am a fussy eater and with 2 older kids it would be difficult to find time to work out what I can and can't eat!

Wind? You could try taking her off and burping her. My DD messes around when she needs a burp.

I also have 5 week old DD who is doing exactly the same thing! The pulling back thing is especially excruciating and I've squealed in pain a couple of times.

We've had feeding problems previously (weight loss and tongue tie) although not aware of any current issues, and when I've googled the messing around thing it seems to be quite common at that age. Will try winding her next time though!

Hope things get better for you Twatty - this feeding thing is very hard at times

Is it just at certain times of day? Evening fussiness is typical apparently

I think I've worked out what's going on - i think I'm ovulating! Not exactly surprised as my periods came back at 6w on the nose with ds and dd1, but I was hoping to get lucky this time! I have crampy pains on one side and when dh got out of the shower last night I had an irrational urge to jump on him for sex. Of course the fact that I had a baby attached to me put paid to that idea, but this is typically how I feel in my fertile patch every month. Also, the side she is fussing on worse is the side I had issues with when feeding dd - the milk flow isn't as good as the other side and i never get much out with the pump. Bizarrely she normally feeds better on that side. She was initially fussing in the evening a couple of days ago, but last night she was doing it all night at every single feed, I'm destroyed this morning! Also have a headache and sore knees, another sure sign for me that my hormones are going whacky.
