New thread ready and waiting xx

MrsNPattz Thu 11-Apr-13 05:48:57

Third feed - who's going to be the 1000th poster and start the new thread?? I will lol will do it now grin

GiraffesAndButterflies Thu 11-Apr-13 02:51:27

Oo I've been meaning to read the book. Undoubtably it'll be trash but trash is what I need grin
Thanks for the reminder! Hope the film's good!

larlemucker Thu 11-Apr-13 02:37:21

Think it's called the host, by Stephanie Meyer the woman who wrote twilight.
Tbh not really bothered about film, just looking forward to getting out of the house without baby larle!!!

GiraffesAndButterflies Thu 11-Apr-13 02:25:23

Ugh I can't get the wind out of DD and consequently she can't sleep. Do your stuff please Infacol...

I'm supposed to be driving an hour and a half to see friends tomorrow so could really use some sleep before then! </whinge>

larle I've heard that too, deeper sleep = harder to wake I think?
What film are you going to see tomorrow?

larlemucker Thu 11-Apr-13 02:14:55

soyo where can I get friends like that?
First feed and can hardly keep eyes open. Man on tv at weekend said that's to do with the cycle of sleep you're in when you wake.
Cinema tomorrow with some friends and then a bit if a uni reunion on Friday, can't wait!!!

Sweet dreams everyone

SoYo Thu 11-Apr-13 02:09:41

Evening all, just swapped with DH who reliably informed me that my daughter is a whingebag then shuffled next door into the quiet room with pre-warmed bed. envy

I've got my lovely friends coming today, can't wait. They're the type that you know will walk in & just start helping & you don't have to make any effort or pretence for & I luffs them. Just what I need at the moment! Q

MrsNPattz Thu 11-Apr-13 01:21:06

Second feed!

Emily that's exactly what I thought - we bought him a very expensive watch, why can we not just go for a meal and be done with it!! But yes Giraffe is right, at least it's short, unlike when we went for a week in Italy for their 40th wedding anniversary!!

Yey Larle that's brilliant for you both - well done! I take little man to my morning meeting and he's usually pretty good but there have been times where I have to wander about lol

See you at next feed!

GiraffesAndButterflies Thu 11-Apr-13 00:35:32

I knew I got that hmm wrong. Sign of tiredness: staring at an emoticon trying to count how many 'm's are in it.

GiraffesAndButterflies Thu 11-Apr-13 00:34:06

Evening all. DD is currently gnawing my nipple comfort sucking herself to sleep I think. We're in some weird pattern where she's feeding loads between about 9.30 and 1.30, so I reckon I've another hour before she goes down and stays there. I blame growth spurts and the clocks going forward. [hmmm] confused

Sympathies MrsN re the weekend away. At least that's reasonably short though, even with a long weekend you won't be there for too long before you can start thinking 'home tomorrow'!

I suspect I'll be checking in again later... Emily try not to kill your DH in the meantime grin

Emilythornesbff Wed 10-Apr-13 23:44:12

mrsn I hear you re: the weekend away.
Ypu'll probably have a great time but why oh why do ppl have to force us into making such a fuss about their events. I always think " what's wrong with going out for a nice meal" grin hey ho, got to be done eh.

1st feed here afte a 2 hour sleep.
Dh s snoring. If you hear about a woman killing her husband in his sleep..... wink
Good night wishes to all of you.

Anypants Wed 10-Apr-13 23:20:06

Am off to bed after a frankly sublime day with an extremely sleepy baby (and mummy). DH is doing the first shift so hopefully catch y'all around the 5am mark grin x

larlemucker Wed 10-Apr-13 22:52:36

Everything crossed MrsN!

I lost 2lb and my friend lost 3lb so we're both really happy with that!
Baby larle had to come to WW tonight as DH is on lates this week. He loved having a good neb at everyone but got tired pretty quick so I had to walk round room for the rest of the meeting!

Tried new pump tonight but need smaller flanges as I appear to have small nipples but massive boobs!

Hoping for a good night for us all tonight, sleepy dust for everyone!!

MrsNPattz Wed 10-Apr-13 21:39:17

First feed, luckily I went to bed at 8 so I have had a bit of sleep already.

I didn't find out about the job today, been waiting for my phone to ring all day and now I have to do the same tomorrow. He said Wed or Thurs so I should know tomorrow!

larlemucker Wed 10-Apr-13 20:33:34

OMG we're nearly on part 9!!

Babybeesmama Wed 10-Apr-13 19:48:13

Ah bless little man mrsn! Good that dentist had a look! I think they look so cute when the teeth start coming! Sometimes I have to try not to be negative about things DH suggests to do with PIL but its usually not as bad as I think! When they come here FIL just drives me mad as he never lets go of remote control - watching the chase, football & nature programmes not my thing!

DH just told me his head itches & started going on about nits - now I have a stupidly itchy head - psychological I hope confused x

abi2790 Wed 10-Apr-13 19:39:43

Evening ladies smile

DS is having his bedtime feed and he's shattered so I'm hoping for a good night's sleep!

MrsNPattz Wed 10-Apr-13 19:20:39

I had the dentist this afternoon and while we were there she checked little mans teeth and says there are teeth coming at the top! Thanks for the tips Larle and Amey - just given him Calprofen before last feed. I'm so tired, please please let us have a better night.

Just been a bitch to hubby, he told me that his mum is looking at a weekend away for us all for his dads retirement and I was so negative about it. In all honesty the thought fills me with dread, spending a weekend in a chalet with the in laws, but now I have had time to think it's something I need to do for hubby because of course he wants to go. Will apologise!

Babybeesmama Wed 10-Apr-13 16:05:24

Mrsn sounds like our boys are in sync with teeth! We have top 2 coming, one of them has a blister looking bit where its breaking through. I give him 2.5mls nurofen before bed at mo as I know its hurting him I find it much better than calpol for teeth. If he wakes in night I also pop on liquid anbesol as it works quick xx

TeaandHobnobs Wed 10-Apr-13 11:37:42

Hi everyone!

I disappeared again - we started sleep training (controlled crying, or "intermittent reassurance" as that Tanya Byron woman calls it!) on Friday and needless to say I'm even more shattered than before. It was DH's bloody idea and apart from the first night, he has been sod all help - apart from coming in when he thinks I'm not doing it properly and making executive decisions about what to do angry. The first two nights weren't as awful as I expected, and the 2nd night in fact he usually dropped off before I went in a second time (we were doing 2 mins, 4 mins, 6 mins etc).
3rd night when he woke at 1:30ish, it took until we'd reached a 14 min interval for him to calm down and go to sleep, which meant I'd been up for an hour and a half.
And last night he just went utterly beserk at 1:30 and wouldn't stop screaming at all (normally it comes in waves), so we calpoled him and DH decided to bring him into bed with us.

I just don't know if we are making the right decision by doing this, but I feel like we have to stick at it otherwise there is no point!

Sorry, whinge over...

larle excellent choice of pump grin hope it makes things a lot easier for you. I haven't pumped for ages, but DS starts nursery in a couple of weeks, and although I was intending for him to switch to cows milk during the day (he turns 1 on the 25th), I thought it might be better to send in some EBM with him so we can work up to switching. So the good old pump has been brought out of retirement!

I am a bit worried about the fact that DS should now (or at least soon) be getting most of his nutrition from food - we are still a bit hit and miss on how much he will eat and I am useless and disorganised. I'll still be bfing morning and evening so at least I know he has that to fall back on, as it were.

Sounds like a lovely day MrsN and you sound very relaxed, that's great smile

Right, when the next thread starts, I'm going to make a conscientious effort to stay more catched up (bad English, but you know what I mean blush)

Pinebarrens Wed 10-Apr-13 11:24:01

bit better last night.

i wasn't going to do a dream feed but DS woke at 10.30 anyway. then he was up at 3.30 DH did a bottle feed to give me a break then he was up at 6.45 so i brought him in with me and he slept until 8.45!

DD also slept until 8.20 which she hasn't done for ages so i actually feel like i had a sleep last night.

still exhausted but less than yesterday.

DS is 6.5 months...

larlemucker Wed 10-Apr-13 09:23:50

Morning all. Not too bad a night for us, up for 3feeds but at least he went back to sleep between.

Happy anniversary funch hope you manage to stay awake long enough to enjoy the day!!

Welcome giraffe, sorry you've had to join us but the ladies on here do a great job of keeping you sane during the fog of sleep deprivation (and unlike some people on mn are all really nice!)

MrsN I've no idea if it helps but some friends from booby group bought amber necklaces for their LO as apparently it stops teething pains. Spose anything is worth a try (depending on the price!)

Beautiful day here, going to wander up village with dog and then meeting a friend for coffee cake

Have a nice day everyone

MrsNPattz Wed 10-Apr-13 08:42:40

I can't really feel his gums cause he bites me with his bottom two teeth lol! But I've had a look at the top and I think I can see the beginnings of some teeth. Sorry you had a bad night too, brewbiscuit

abi2790 Wed 10-Apr-13 07:52:42

Urrgghh last night was terrible. We had 2 transfer fails and ds wasn't even hungry. Luckily he was happy in his crib and he self-settled but it still took 2 hours before I got back to sleep!

Sorry you're having bad night's MrsN. It could be teething. How do his gums feel? My ds has been the same in the daytime recently. He keeps groaning and whimpering especially when I leave the room.

Looks like it's going to be a sunny day today. Hmmm what to do?

MrsNPattz Wed 10-Apr-13 07:42:39

Morning feed here, I'm not even going to suggest that we might get more sleep as I can't cope with the disappointment ~dramatic emoticon~

It has to be teething surely? He's waking more, and when I put him back down he groans and moans as if something is bothering him - sometimes he wakes up sometimes he doesn't. This will pass right??

Happy anniversary Funch!

Good luck to your friend too then Larle!

Welcome Giraffe!
