MrsNPattz Wed 30-Jan-13 00:15:06

Thanks for new thread Tea!

First feed here, it took me aaaaages to fall asleep so I haven't been asleep long, Hoping for a quick feed and that I fall asleep quicker!

Hope mini Marbles has settled now!

Susieloo Wed 30-Jan-13 00:39:39

1st feed after early bed after he fell asleep having only had 2oz so I've spent most the night checking on him because its so unusual for him to be off his food!!

small agree with everything that's been said that's outrageous and I'm fairly sure illegal.

Eyes very tired despite an early bed for me, we are walking into town tomorrow to go and see the dr, babyloo's one eye is rolling into the middle a lot and I'm worried it might develop into a problem -also want to ask my dr what to do about my one boob, one has deflated and the other hasn't so I'm very lopsided, not sure whether to empty it but all advice seems to be don't express.

Hope you had a successful transfer marbles

Marks place in shiny new thread.

DTs had their tongue ties snipped today, I've got to work on getting their mouths open wider when latching on but I've had no nipple pain since they've had it done grin

I've managed ooh about a 5 min doze so far this evening. A massive cry and a few sweary words. Last night I think I got 2 hours sleep max, it probably wasn't even that much. I bloody well hope tonight is better.

Dumb question here, transfer fail, what are you on about? Is it the putting small child down after feeding and them waking?

DD used to wake loads in that respect. I'm hoping to be more successful with the DTs but at the moment I'd just be happy with a night where I get a few hours kip.

Ameybee Wed 30-Jan-13 01:18:20

Yep look that's what a transfer fail is exactly! Heartbreaking when they are fast asleep in your arms/on boob/bottle!

We are having baaaad night so far - baby bee is very hoarse & coughing sad don't like it! He's woken about 4 times so far. Is having some milk now so hoping for a few hours - DH is moaning already even tho I've done the last 4 nights on my own

That offer from my DM is looking very appealing right now!
I think co-sleeping will save me tonight! Feel shattered! X

funchum8am Wed 30-Jan-13 01:53:28

Sympathy to all, we are having a bad night too. babyfunch woke at 12:25 after bed at 9 and we are feeding again now. I think she was crying a minute or two before I woke as she sounded pretty wound up. Her cot is right behind our heads but in the next room and I have never failed to hear her before...possibly it is because I am absolutely knackered plus have a cold sad

look you must be dead on your feet, I really hope you can get some sleep.

funchum8am Wed 30-Jan-13 01:54:47

tea thanks for sorting new thread!

amey get that DH of yours told! He does not get to moan unless he does some nights in return for the last 4!

larlemucker Wed 30-Jan-13 02:10:28

First feed here. Had horrid day with baby larle screaming all day, think he Is getting a cold and has colic.
Probably a silly question but if I want to give him gripe water does the spoon need sterilizing?
Hope you get some sleep look
amey take your mum up on the offer, bit of jealously over here as my mum passed away 5 years ago in march and like you I don't think I'd trust anyone else to have him overnight

GoatBongosAnonymous Wed 30-Jan-13 02:42:26

Thanks for new thread, tea
But number 7?
I feel old...
amey definitely take your DM's offer or I shall be forming an orderly queue behind funch !
look hope the tt snips work wonders for sleep! Does it take them time to get used to it?
larle sounds a horrible day. Hope you get a better night. You don't need to sterilise the spoon, it is stuff in contact with milk that needs it. Though we give stuff like that in syringe or teat.
Finally went down here at 9:30 and has been ok since. Though am cheating and am co sleeping. He will be here forever. Taking up more room than my 6'5" DH.

GoatBongosAnonymous Wed 30-Jan-13 02:44:30

Sorry to hear about your mum larle I lost my dad 6 years ago and I am so sad that he will never get to know his first grandchild.

GoatBongosAnonymous Wed 30-Jan-13 02:46:23

Oh no, major nappy alert... confused

MrsNPattz Wed 30-Jan-13 03:53:47

Second feed here zzzzzzzz and he is wide awake hmm

ChilliBanana Wed 30-Jan-13 05:29:39

Lost count of how many feeds, brought him into my bed at midnight to see if it would help but it didn't sad
look I hope you get some more sleep now the tt are cut.
small that's terrible and I hope you get some legal advice.
larle and goat thanks for your losses.
<yawn> think I'll be asking dh to do a night of feeds this weekend. Hope poorly and non-sleepy babies are sleeping soundly now.

funchum8am Wed 30-Jan-13 05:46:45

Gah second feed but gazillionth waking here. DH got up with her at 4:30 bless him but she needed feeding at 5:30 and was really yelling so I fed her rather than put up with the noise for the time it takes to make up a bottle! At least she might sleep a while now, she is normally up by 5 for the day.

I am sacking off my kit day and taking her to the cm so I can sleeeeep and get this cold nipped in the bud...ridiculously excited by the prospect of 4 hours in bed alone with no wakings!

funchum8am Wed 30-Jan-13 05:47:34

goat and larle I am so sorry to hear you have lost parents. Big hugs.

larlemucker Wed 30-Jan-13 06:35:52

goat I know exactly how you feel, we're waiting for the weather to improve and then we'll take baby larle down to the cemetery to meet his grandma. I know some of you may think that's weird!
We're on second feed, much more sleep than last night thank god. Hopefully he'll go down for a few more hours after this.
funch enjoy your 4 hours, sounds like complete bliss!

larlemucker Wed 30-Jan-13 06:36:35

Thank you for the hugs.
Anyone for homemade ginger shortbread?

GoatBongosAnonymous Wed 30-Jan-13 06:39:22

larle we will be visiting grandad when we go to NZ this August!

Pleeeeeeaazzzzze go back to sleep, little baby goat... You know you want to.

GoatBongosAnonymous Wed 30-Jan-13 06:39:54

And yes please to the shortbread! Yum!

larlemucker Wed 30-Jan-13 06:56:53

Anyone else's child wake up with the click of your bra strap as you put boob away? They need to make silent clips!

MissingMyMarbles Wed 30-Jan-13 07:03:10

Ooh! Shiny new thread! Thanks, Teasmile Hopefully it will go back on the list and my threads I'm on list, rather than having to go through the link on my desperate plea list grin

Fed at 1.20 and got back to bed about 1.50 then..................6.20!!! Feel like I've had a full nights sleep! It's amazing that its often where in the night you get your long stint. I'd hardly call 4 1/2 hours that long really (she's nearly 7 monthshmm) but waking at 6.20? Bliss! <desperately hopes its a pattern and not a calpol induced one-off>

Sorry others nights have not been so straight forward.

MrsNPattz Wed 30-Jan-13 08:44:54

Up time here, pretty rubbish night but hey ho!

Sorry for your losses Goat and Larle thanks

Yum I will take some virtual shortbread please!

Larle I'm always worried he will wake up with my bra strap but he never does thankfully!

Off to walk to the Drs soon, then a quiet afternoon. Hope you all have a good day xx

Smallgreenone Wed 30-Jan-13 08:51:04

Thanks guys I not sure if its legal or not but I will check. I'd also like to start my own business so if might be the kick up the bum I need.
We had a good night after a bad start. Eventually went down at 9 until 4.30 so 7 hrs!
Cannot believe we're on part 7! Hoping I can graduate soon- feel like I'm being kept behind for bad behaviour at school!

Macaroons Wed 30-Jan-13 10:48:30

Haven't posted for a few days and we are on to a new thread already grin

Hope you are all well! Baby mac just fell asleep for his nap and I'm very tempted to join him wink he's been doing 6.30-11.30 then 12.30 to around 5 or 6 recently. I usually feed him lying down on our bed and if we are lucky he falls asleep and doesn't wake till 8. (Last Saturday we slept till 10.30!! What a lie in!!!! I wish he does that everyday!)

Small - what business are you planning to start?

Sorry for lack of name checking, haven't read rest of the thread yet!

Ameybee Wed 30-Jan-13 14:45:35

Goat and larle, I'm so sorry for losses. I would say one of my biggest fears as an adult is losing my parents or DH's parents, we are very close to all of them.

I was too tired to post last night, we prob got about 4 hours sad.
I'm fed up of it now. Have downloaded the no cry sleep solution & started a sleep log. Seems sensible, one point I've already tried that worked was if your baby always wakes say 45 mins into nap - set a timer and go in at say 40 mins so you can immediately re settle - gave us a longer lunch time nap.

Small that's awful about your job sad hope you get something sorted.
