My daughter is nearing the 7th month mark an I've been exclusively Breastfeeding since day one. My son was in neonatal for a week and unable to properly breastfeed to start with so he had both breast and expressed milk in a bottle from day one and between 6 months and 1 year we weaned him onto just bottle. I love Breastfeeding my daughter but I'm starting to feel so suffercated because of it and my son is starting to get really resentful of her for all the time she gets having a cuddle while I'm feeding her. However she flat out refuses a bottle whether its my milk or formula! I've been trying for over a month now and no luck does anyone have any suggestions to help get her to take a bottle?

Generally if a bottle hasn't been introduced on a regular basis from the early weeks then you will have no luck introducing one at a later date. However, at 7m she can easily drink from a sippy cup (or even an open cup with help).

Have you tried a cup/sippy cup? There's loads of different ones you could try.

How many feeds is she getting during the day and night, and has she started on solids yet? If she is on solids, does she have a good 'routine' for breakfast lunch and dinner? Maybe you could cut down gently over the next month?

We have tried a sippy cup but she tends to just give me this look that says are you joking and then flat out refuses. She normally sleeps from 8.30pm til 6.30am at which time se has a feed. She then has a mid morning feed and about 1tbsp of food at lunch followed by breast, a mid afternoon feed then another 1tbsp of food for dinner and breast. Finally she had her bedtime feed. Does anyone know a kind of sippy cup that might be better?

I did it at 7 months by alternating between breast and bottle during the feed IYSWIM. Swapping back and forth, took a few times for my DD to get it, initially she didnt want to know, but kept going and then one night she did it! It was like a small miracle at the time smile

Just keep trying that perhaps?
