we have yet to introduce any formula to 12mo DD as we are trying to figure out if she is allergic to cows milk or not. she eats yoghurt no probs but doesn't like cheese and last time i gave her milk she had a very mild reaction akin to hay fever.
i have now dropped morning breast feed and want to drop night time feed as soon as we know if she is allergic or not.
my question is basically, am i ok not giving her any other milk (other than oat milk or soya milk on cereal / porridge) throughout the day? i don't want her to be lacking in vitamins or anything.
i am also a bit undecided as to what to do if she isn't allergic to cows milk. call me insane or a mega hippy but i don't understand why we drink milk from another species. i avoid it if i can as it makes me feel a bit sick... give me soya all the way. do you think DD would be ok if i gave her alpro soya +1 instead of cows milk? would she be ok having yoghurt as her main source of dairy and nothing else?

We use milk from another species because cheese is delicious! As long as you're certain she's getting enough calcium then it won't matter if she doesn't drink milk as a drink.

Interestingly have just been listening to the farming programme and apparently a lot of lactose intolerance is intolerance of pasteurised milk - a lot of lactose intolerant people are fine with raw (unpasteurised) milk. Sometimes available at farmers markets and places like that.
