I'm probably going to be very busy the next few days with party planning so thought I'd post this now. On Thursday, I will have made it to one year BF.

I never thought I'd ever do a whole year and after a really rubbish start where DD was drowsy from the epidural after a horrible EMCS, she was also born with a leg bent the wrong way which straightened out by itself, refusal to latch the first day or so, midwives shoving her head onto the breast, bad recovery from EMCS and PTS from it, everything turned out ok.

She now sleeps through the night and has done properly for about a month and is happy, healthy and I have come to really love our BF time together at the end of a working day.

I'm very glad I stuck with it even through the 2 hourly night waking periods which did pass and I'm almost nostalgic for the cluster feeding days now as I got so much reading done. And bless BF for the sleepy hormones which I now miss! Smile

Congratulations!
Lovely to hear it working out, particularly after a tricky start

showtunes you have inspired me! I'm presently in the throes of feeding every 2 hours through the night and thinking that this child will never, ever, ever, ever sleep through! (she's almost 5 months)

Well done you!

You can do it maldive!

How long have the 2 hourly feeds been going on for?

Have you tried the Pantley Pull Off Method? Google it, if you haven't heard of it. I did this with DD and it was really effective at getting her not to fall asleep on the boob.
