Infant feeding

Lost: my previously good milk supply...if found, please return to owner

AF arrived at the weekend, which coincided with the disappearance of my milk, literally empty spaniel eared boobs. Overnight.

My 7mo EBF, PFB refuses the bottle and managed only a few oz of formula from a sippy cup, so I'm getting slightly distressed about how much fluid she's taking. I'd like my milk supply back. How do I get it back? Is it just an AF thing that will return to normal in a few days? - any tips or words of advice?

Some women do find a drop happens round about their period time, but it is temporary and mild, honestly....milder than you think, and more temporary than you think. The 'empty' feeling happens with established bf and it does not mean there is no milk there. Just keep letting your baby feed as she wants to :)

If you are really freaked by fluid intake and need to do something then make her solids sloppier.

I second what TikTok said. It would be really strange for your supply to disappear suddenly. I have a v temporary dip in supply during my periods but what actually happens isn't that my breasts cease to make milk, merely ds feeds more to make up for it. Smile
