One-handed mobile typing here, so please forgive brevity. My LO is three and a half weeks. After a traumatic birth, he (for medical reasons) was put straight onto formula at the hospital. Had so much appalling advice with feeding, but with time we've managed to get to the point where he can latch on at almost every feed (sometimes with the aid of a shield). However just as he has made this breakthrough I find myself dreading the feeds as they are excruciatingly painful (just on the nipples). I'm working on a better latch but I don't know if I can continue (im expressing at the mo Because the pain is too much). We've worked so hard getting to this point i feel awful giving up now. But don't know how much more I can take. Is it true that sometimes the pain just goes away? It's just a case of hanging on in there? Any advice much appreciated. Thank you. :(
