When DS1 was a similar age we went out for lunch and forgot to bring a cup. I didn't want to let him use a glass but they had straws. We tried it, and he got the idea very quickly. It might be worth a try, at least?
Have you tried the MAM bottles? My 8m old was identical and a friend recommended these bottles to me - I was very very sceptical but figured it was worth a try - to my amazement she actually drank from them.
If I'm around, she still prefers to have milk from me (she's 12m now), but at eg nursery she will now happily take a bottle.
DD2 has bfs at bedtime and 1-2 time during the night and sometimes in the am. So 3 in 24 hours. My decision to do it this way as I do the odd work day and hate maternity bras/clothes you can feed in.
Sooo... basically she drinks a very minimal amount of water from a beaker or a doidy cup during the day (2 oz in total maybe) and a small amount of cows milk from a doidy cup at breakfast (1-2 oz). Formula a total no go as is a bottle.
I have tried a huge variety of beakers, all get pretty much the same reaction. Nuby probably the most successful. Doidy cup occasionally good, mostly she's indifferent. Not interested in holding beakers herself except to tip them up.
She's just waiting until Im going to bf her...
Whilst Im in no hurry to totally drop bf-ing I'd like her to stop being so reliant on it and persuade her that other forms of receptacle/fluid are good too!
