She really chubby she weighs 15lbs now. Do you think I am eating too many calories maybe ? I'm big myself (size 18) I'm not eating all rubbish porridge in the morning or toast, don't really do lunch if I do it's a sandwich or cuppa soup then a meal at dinner time fruit to snack yogurts we do have a take away usually a Friday. I'm not loosing anything through feeding her I'm staying the same weight . Should I cut what I'm eating? Is she getting too many calories?

Nope. She's perfect size. Your eating habits don't make the slightest bit of difference to her calorie intake. She takes what she needs. In a week or two she will grow up a bit and then the chubbiness will even out a bit.

My EBF 2nd son was a lot fatter than his older brother who was breastfed for only first 6 weeks. He was breastfed only for 5 and a half months and was like a butterball :o he is still inclined to be on the robust side at age 11 (more of a rugby forward than a back!) but maybe it's just their natural body shape - my elder son is still a slimmer build.

Pascha is right - what you eat makes zero difference to the calories in the breastmilk.

Lots of babies - bf and ff - are chubby. It's well on the normal spectrum for babies of this age.

You don't need to do anything about it...except stop worrying :)

she sounds perfect.
my dc1 was a chubby baby (doubled birth weight by 12 weeks) but now is a very skinny 6y old with arms and legs like twigs.

I agree with everyone else, she's perfect and stop worrying!

I've just looked and at 14 wks DS was over 16lbs and beautifully chubby (people used to comment on how perfect his thighs were!!)

He's now nearly one and while still hefty enough looks a lot leaner as he's permanently on the move.

I miss his chubbyness Sad

I bet she's gorgeous! My dd1 was 16lbs at 13 weeks ebf, she was lush Smile she is now a beautiful willowy nearly 6yo. Not a pick on her.

My baby dd is 11 weeks old and is about 12lbs. Everyone comments (positively!) on her chubby cheeks and wrists.

I am also a size 18 and worried my head off about dd1's weight convinced everyone was thinking she was chubby because of me but now I've seen how they lose the chubbiness I'm trying not worrying this time!

OP - i just posted on another thread where they were worried LO wasn't gaining enough. Like us, all babies come in different shapes and sizes and tbh at that age I think that nice chubbiness is what you're aiming for!!
