DS feeds every 1 to 1.5 hours during the day. Mercifully, it's more like every three hours at night (except during that &@?!#%? four month sleep regression when it was daytime feeding rates). He can't usually be convinced to take both sides during day time feeds (far too busy mother, places to go, people to see) but will take both sides at night which I guess explains the longer stretches. One side takes him about five minutes, except for his bedtime feed which is closer to 10 minutes per side. He also poos multiple times a day, like three big ones plus two or three smaller ones.
I don't think I should be worried (should I?) because he's very happy, alert and incredibly long. I'm really hoping it'll space out a bit when we start weaning next month, but am I the only one that didn't get a baby who settled into three hourly feeds and poos only every couple of days?!
No... Definitely not! I struggle to get my five month old to stretch to two hours between feeds during the day, very often closer together, can be hourly particularly in the morning, Night is a bit better... Just coming out of regression... But he's on a three hour cycle at night, feed at 7pm, wake up screaming at 10 for no apparent reason, wake up for feed at 1 (though touch wood have got him off that this week), again at 4 & 7. Not sure he's got the switch to GMT tonight programmed in though!
Poos wise, I gave up dairy due to his reflux and nappies went down to 1-2 a day, but I've just started weaning (he can sit up, put a spoonful of food successfully in his own mouth, and swallow, so i think hes ready ?!?) and they're up again. Deep joy.
