Hi all - having gone through the mill trying to establish breastfeeding with baby 1 I am now apparently doing the same for baby 2 who is 6 days old today!
Like her sister she was born with a tongue tie which was picked up much sooner this time and snipped on Thursday.
We are gradually trying to get going with feeding now the tie has gone and the pain is not (touch wood) as bad as last time BUT my latest problem is that the baby (very windy and upset before a lot of feeds) will only go on the right breast - RELATIVELY happily - she screams her head off if I try to get her on the left, even if I try to sneakily use the rugby hold.
Got a good mw who has said use Infacol and up to a point just to put her on whichever side she'll drink from, but obviously this is not very sustainable...any tips on getting babies to lose a hatred for one side? Do I just need to persevere?
Any advice gratefully received, thanks!
