I have wondered, on and off, whether DS is TT - he has exhibited a number of symptoms.
However his weight gain has always been fantastic and - after an initial 10 weeks of pain at the start (mostly thrush) it hasn't been too painful for me to feed. I was a bit rubbish at being proactive in the immediate postpartum period and after 3m passed I didn't see the point in worrying about it.
I am now still wondering whether he has - whether it will become painful when he gets teeth, speech issues etc. Am now v aware it's not "just a newborn issue".
BUT am also aware it can be v hard to get a TT diagnosed correctly, so I'd really welcome thoughts as to how likely it is: he has a lip tie, which used to blanch when he was younger but doesn't now. If I poke a finger under his tongue, I can't feel any obstruction towards the back corners where I think a ptt would be, but the bit in the middle (frenulum??) feels quite prominent. But is that just normal?
He can stick his tongue out at least as far as his lips, but if it's lifted to the top of his mouth it seems to form a 'cup' shape iyswim. Feeding is fairly often uncomfortable but not painful.
I know I do need to see someone in real life - but I know from on here that loads are missed, and tbh money is v tight (am single parent) and I don't want to waste it on what might be a whim! What does the underside of a normal 6mo tongue feel like?
