What the frigging hell has happened to Aptamil?

We decided to use Aptamil with DS after DD having issues that were solved by a switch to it. Its only just over a year since DD stopped having aptamil first, and I've seen some stuff about them changing the drying machines but Wth? This isn't the same stuff DD was on at all. It doesn't mix without vigorous shaking which - if you have a windy baby - is a method best avoided and I didn't have to do that before. Even if most of it mixes, bits still get caught in the teat so ds is sucking hard and just getting air, not helping any wind issues. I smells worse too even worse than before. Switched DS to hipp and he's far happier, but what did they do? Surely it's not just drying machine related is it?

I dunno but we've had the same problems with the powder - getting bits stuck in the teat. Using the pre-made stuff for now as mix feeding so not as expensive since we're only using half the amount. Did the switch go well for you? I'm thinking we may have to when DS is older as the pre-made stuff isn't cheap!

Yes I noticed this too. I started using a sterilised spoon to give it a good stir before shaking, seems much better

Call the manufacturers and tell them of the problems - they need to know.

aamia yes, switch seems to have gone well. He's still windy and can scream the house down with little notice, but it's improving and we get awake moments where he's not screaming now.

ceeveebee I still suffered problems with a spoon Confused, but it did mix better. I don't know if there's maybe an optimal water temperature as sometimes it mixed better than others

tiktok I never thought of that - fantastic idea.
