Nipple suddenly sore at 36 weeks pg

I'm nearly 36 weeks pg and one of my nipples is really sore.

2.9 y.o. DS feeds a couple of times a day, maybe once a night.

It feels like I've been bitten, though I don't think I have. My right nipple is sore for quite a while after feeds, although it's worst straight afterwards.

Normal? Could it be some kind of sudden latch issue?

Not had much experience of tandem feeding sorry Angel but hopefully this will bump for you.

Thanks, Julie - looks like not many other people have experience of it either. :)

It's improving now, mainly due to not feeding much from the sore side.

Glad things are getting better Smile.

I had sore nipples when feeding ds1 and pg with ds2.

The LLL leader thought it might have been thrush because there was also a deep pain and a kind of tugging feeling IIRC. I had thrush down below at the time, so a good chance she was right.

But, saying that it just disappeared of it's own accord.

So maybe it wasn't thrush!!

I did wonder if it was just dry nursing which was sore!

Am feeding and pregnant and sometimes one of my nips is particularly sore, sometimes right, sometimes left. Tonight it's RHS, as that has been used for last two feeds. Teeth don't help. Neither do hormones. Sad

:( Sossiges

It's much better than it was now, though not exactly comfortable. I probably should shorten feeds, but in the night I worry that DS won't go back to sleep properly, and in the morning I let him go on for ages so I can lie in bed and not have to get up. Wink

Oh yes, you definitely don't want to get up before you have to Smile
Mine has taken to hanging on with her teeth sometimes when she goes to sleep - poor old nipple! It's like a bear trap!
