baby is just recently weaned from breast to bottle so I am a little confused what is the correct amount of milk.

she is very pudgy baby and currently having 3x 6oz and three meals.

is this correct? when do they drop down to two milk feeds?

milk is at 10.30, 3 and 7.30. when does this decrease? do I enforce it or how do i know she doesnt want it? sorry to be naive, but i still don't seem to know what each cry means....

At 11 months I'd expect three meals, two snacks and no bottles during the day, just water or milk in a cup. But that's just me.

Up to 12 months they should be having 20oz milk. I think 3 x 7 oz is the normal. Morning, mid afternoon and bedtime. That's what most of my friends with 10/11 month old babies seem to do.

Does she not have any milk on waking?

I think NHS guidance is for 'up to' 17oz at this age and it doesn't have to be all milk in bottles.

My ds1 had 3-4 6oz bottles at this age.

Morning, afternoon, bedtime and one around 11pm.

He is 14 mo now and has around 20oz a day still. He loves his milk.

I'd offer the 3 x6oz bottles and see how she goes. If she isn't finishing the bottles then offer less per feed.

If she's finishing the bottle I'd offer 7oz per feed.

I don't think there is a particular right or wrong, as long as baby is hydrated an has a healthy diet and seems content.

And I would offer the milk a good hour after her meal too. The times you suggest seem fine to me.

Zuleika do you have a link for the 'up to 17oz?". As my HV told me the daily requirement is between 18-22oz up to 12 months, (500-600ml) which obviously includes milk used in food/drunk in cups too. Any less than 500ml she told me you need to give vitamin drops. I couldn't find reference to the 500-600ml on nhs site anywhere but have seen it elsewhere (mumsnet guide to weaning, babycentre, kellymom)
