question about expressing and affect on supply

Thinking about expressing so my dh can do the odd feed. If I were to express enough today for one feed tmrw, what effect will missing that feed tmrw have on my supply?

I guess this question applies to any feed I've expressed in advance. If I then miss a feed while dh gives ds the expressed milk is it a problem and if so what are u meant to do?

If its an occasional feed, and your supply is already established, you should not notice. If it turns into the same feed every night, you body wont make milk for that feed (but will for the time you express if it is also a regular time)

It really depends on your body. It will be fine to express and you won't "run out" as you just keep making it all the time. However, if you miss a feed you might just find that you get engorged and uncomfortable, and worst case get a blocked duct or mastitis. However, that's not to say you shouldn't try as it's likely to be fine. Just be aware that if you do this regularly and you start to suffer with engorgement or blocked ducts, this may be the cause.

Chances are, though, that you will be fine.
