Can someone point me towards tips for newborn latch

You'd think second time I'd remember.

Latch seems mostly there, big wide mouth, swallowing, puffed cheeks but also not quite right so nipples are bleeding a little. To be fair he's not quite a day old yet. Hospital didn't have those leaflets this around. Can people point towards a good online resource please?

TIA

Congratulations on your baby!

There are loads on youtube, but can you get a midwife round or go to a local breastfeeding support session? I just think it's so much easier to get someone to watch you and offer advice.

I'd always wondered if it was any easier the second time round...

Type "jack newman latch" into Youtube. I found them really helpful to just see exactly how it should go.

you're right, he seems pretty much there so need a person to tweak.

I think I might have been aiming the nipple a bit too high. MWs at hospital weren't great as (should have heard some of the advice given to others). Community MW tomorrow and cafe on Friday.

You get lazy with older babies/toddlers don't you. They do all the work for you.

Congratulations!

I agree seeing someone in real life would be best, but in case you can't get useful help soon enough, I do think this leaflet is very good:
