Medication for Endometriosis and PND whilst BFing

Hi all,

I will obviously discuss this with my midwife (am currently 33 weeks) but my next appointment's not till next week...

Does anyone know if there's anything I can take for PND and/or Endometriosis whilst BFing? I'm increasingly worried about how these conditions will affect me after the birth but I'm also REALLY hoping to BF for as long as possible this time...

Any thoughts or advice greatly appreciated, thanks.

I don't know about PND or endometriosis, but in my experience, GP's are good at finding prescribing solutuons for breastfeeding mothers. I recently needed antibiotics which are not considered appropriate for bf mothers as they would have made my baby unwell. They discussed alternatives with the pharmacist and I was prescribed something that was effective and which would not harm my baby. I wouldn't worry too much about this because normally there is always a solution.

There deffanatly are drugs you can take for PND while BF I don't know about Endometriosis but there are actualy very few drugs you can't take while BF.

The bes place to look is hear www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/drugs-in-breastmilk.html you can ring them or you GP can to get the information you need. There is a fact sheet on PND and drugs you can take on the links on that page to.
