Breast feeding my baby has terrible trapped wind

I have a 7 week old baby who after breast feeding has bad wind.I place her in her moses basket ever night after a feed and a burp. She then begins to grunt and throws her arms and legs around. I take her out to burp her again and even when she is sleeping she makes those grunting noses and sounds so uncomfortable and stresses me out and I cannot sleep. I need advice desperately!

My Lo is the same. Do you swaddle? If you're sure all the wind is up it might just be a problem with settling and your Lo feeling secure??

Are you sure it's wind? How active is she? My ds did this from birth, grunting and twisting in his sleep- he was so noisy and sounded so uncomfortable but he didn't cry. I thought it was wind. Then I saw a thing on the tv which said it was the babies strengthening and developing their muscles such as their back muscles in readiness for turning, sitting etc - which made sense as ds was a little ball of active muscle- as long as they weren't crying it probably wasn't wind. DS kept me awake for the few hours between feeds.

Chi if your baby is asleep then she is not uncomfortable or in distress - grunting and throwing arms and legs around is normal baby behaviour :)
