Oops typing on phone. She's had green poos last couple of days it was meant to say. Is it just wind or too much foremilk, does foremilk even exist?

Do you have a fast letdown that could be bothering her?

I'm not sure if over-supply would become an issue at 4 months, or if that tends to be problem in the beginning.

Have you got a good supply?

I would reckon on fast letdown (Causing her to have to gulp fast and take in air) mixed with possibly more foremilk than is ideal (although this isn't a problem at all, providing it isn't bothering her.

If you expressed off a bit before you feed, or fed a bit more often before your breasts were bursting that might help!?

I seem to have a good supply and reckoned a while back I had fast let down as she was gulping and choking and coming off a lot and had terrible terrible wind. When she comes off I'm quite often dripping quite fast, but it doesn't spray out or anything.
Funny thing is she's slept 10pm to 5 or 6am the last couple of nights and when I feed her (lying down) with boobs like melons she feeds really well from the 1st side and for ages, burps well and then starts the twisting, pulling, farting on the second side. Most other feeds are during the day are the pulling off and crying type, even if they're quite close together...I've been offering more often as she doesn't seem to take much at each feed, what with all the pulling off and crying.

A lactation consultant helped me with this sort of problem. Feed baby in positions so babies head is above nipple and now I block feed as well.

A lactation consultant is really worth it.

I think its just using 1 boob for say a 3 hour period of feeds, then using the other for the next 3 hours. That way, baby is getting all the milk including hindmilk and its supposed to address an imbalance if there is one. BTW, my ds (12 wo) has started doing this too, but not quite to same extent and poos are ok, but he is teething (!). I find that he's having bother latching due to the pain (?) but therefore takes in more air, leading to more pain!! We've had a monstrous couple of days and a very sore wee man, but worth considering maybe??

I wondered about teeth cos she's really dribbly but she has been for weeks and some babies just are. Also often she shoves her fist into her mouth so far she gags, just after a feed so I wondered about reflux, she also brings back curdled milk up to 40 mins after, but I don't think she's distressed enough or it's consistent enough for that IYSWIM?
Left boob seems to be worse for her as well, and when I tried expressing the other day I got much more off that side, so maybe I have fast let down/oversupply on that side?

It might be you have a fast let down. That's what I have.

We did have quite a few days of green poo that we thought were teething but we didn't know for sure.

Thank you Mampig. I am not exactly sure why the lactation consultant suggested block feeding but what ever her reason it has helped me. I might have had oversupply, because now I feel like it is much better the amount of milk I have. I don't block feed properly I just go back to the same side at least once so it is very drained and squishy before I go the other side. I will never remember times, so didn't try block feeding properly.

Too many factors!!! Good luck. Hope it all settles down.

DD is also 4m and doesn't have green poo but is doing the same thing of pulling away, screaming but still rooting for more milk. I don't know why. I am sort of doing block feeding just because she has decided she only likes one side then after a day or two will changr to only wanting the other side. It is possible that I have a fast let-down in the morning as she is sleeping through for about 10 hrs so I wake with huge aching breasts, but she tends to feed better at that feed than later in the day.
