Switching from BF to Bottles

DD is 6 months. She is breastfed but has been having a bottle two or three times a week since she was 5 weeks just so she is used to it. This has been going well. However, I am now at the point where I want to stop bf (although I am still expressing). DD is determined not to have the bottle from anyone especially at night. I know this is probably my own fault as she has always been breastfed to sleep at night but does anyone have any tips on how I switch to bottles full time. I am due to go back to work in 8 weeks and really want her to be ok with the bottles.

Common problem!
I just had to stick it out so to speak. Get others to do bottles as much as poss in meantime and perservere.
You know you don't have to stop feeding!
Just keep doing morning and night religiously and you can keep going. She will learn to take bottle off her daytime carer and food is beckoning rapidly!
I mistakenly thought weanin my DD meant giving up Breastfeeding. I did it differently 2nd time around and fed DS till he was 1

Thanks MayDayChild. This was much easier with DS as he stopped himself breastfeeding at 4 months so I never had to worry about it. DD is a real booby girl! I think like you say I will keep up the morning and night ones.

We are now attempting weaning but I think she is gonna be a finger food girl. Cant get any purees etc in her but she had a lovely time today with a bit of rusk and later a bit of bread and cheese spread!

I think keeping the first and last feed going as long as possible is a good idea, esp since you say she is a bobby girl Grin this will give her the comfort and closeness she craves when you go back to work.
