Hey everybody and thanks in advance for any advice!
I have a 10-week-old DS who suffers from a reflux and he was prescribed Infant Gaviscon last week Thursday. I have now given it to him 2 to 4 times daily as the doctor advised and the reflux seems to be getting better. I was just wondering how long am I supposed to carry on giving it to him? I mean, I asked the doctor and she just said as long as he gets better, but I've learned that babies generally "grow out of it". So I was wondering if anyone knows whether long-term use might cause some irritation or other problems.
Also, before the reflux started I had occasionally given him Infacol or Gripe Water, mainly when DH feeds him breastmilk with a bottle in the evenings. I was wondering if anyone knows if I can still give him this while he's getting the Gaviscon, as I forgot to ask the doctor.. I have a health check appointment with him tomorrow, so I will of course ask the HV as well, but just thought to ask here also..
