good for her - hope it goes well. if so, it will be nice to have her as a role model as a lot of women and girls do look up to her

I'd have sworn that I read somewhere that VB attributed her fast return to pre-preg figure to BFing with her previous babies - cos I remember thinking hmmmmmmmm that and the 2 lettuce leaves for lunch diet!

It is possible to change your mind about how you feel about something.

I was dead set against breastfeeding when I had dd. But when I had ds I was determined to give it a go and despite huge difficulties continued for 16 months.

and in actual fact whether she does or not - the fact she is talking about it like this is helping.

all very nice but did you read down and see that they were thinking of naming the baby Santa ????? Confused

She definitely needs to shake her head about Santa... Poor kid. Least bf will give it a good start!

stealth that's a good point. I will admit that I was a little cynical about it at first, but for someone with her profile to say that she is choosing to BF when seemingly so many others, like Jordan for example, made a big deal of the fact that they wouldn't can only be a good thing.

Doesn't she have implants? And "Santa"?! FFS!

Report
Northernlurker · 03/07/2011 23:15

She had the implants removed.

Good luck with the breastfeeding Victoria. Lets hope she does it a LOT in public Smile

Can you have a VB after having 3 CSs? Because I suppose also could be a way to do it in a more "natural" way. Although I appreciate there may be many reasons why she is having an ELCS (I had one due to breech presentation so don't flame me) other than being "too posh to push" like it is portrayed in the media.

She still has implants I'm sure, you can see them as she is so thin-I think maybe she just had slightly smaller ones.

realhousewifeofdevoncounty · 03/07/2011 23:17

Oh ok re the implants. Fair enough. Well I hope she does. I have seen pics of her sunbathing topless before so she can'y use the excuse that she is too shy/modest!

I think the baby might go a bit hungry.

Report
TCOB · 03/07/2011 23:23

Maybe it's the thought that she won't have any more babies and if she doesn't this time, she'll never have done it all. I know I'm clinging on to BFing my DD for that reason Sad. RE the C-section, there is a 'natural' CS these days which sounds rather lovely, with music, skin-to-skin immediately etc etc. Not sure if on the NHS but surely at whatever spiffing orspital that VB drops in.

I thought you couldn't BF if you had implants? Confused

Santa is a proper name, might be Italian or Spanish. One of those posh bints who hang around the royal family is called Santa. Maybe Tara P-T's sister?

Good luck to her anyway.

I seem to remember reading an interview where she said she had her first by CS becasue he was breech. Then she was advised not to try for a VBAC. Probably ill advised but I know people who have had to really push (pardon the pun) for VBAC's when all around them were advising another CS.

Report
realhousewifeofdevoncounty · 04/07/2011 00:37

That's fair enough. I did suspect that the "too posh to push" thing was probably an invention of the media anyway... Good luck to her, I didn't know that she had bottle-fed previously tbh, so not sure if people will necessarily hear too much about her bfing this time around but perhaps I'm wrong and she will make a point of it and help promote bfing. Though part of me is still dismayed that people would actually base their decisions on how to feed their babies soley on how posh spice does - IYSWIM?

VB has always appeared in the "celeb breastfeeder" lists. Confused

Could it be that this is a total made up non story?
Or were the lists just very prescient...

Whatever, best of luck to her.

VeronicaCake · 04/07/2011 07:33

It is technically possible to have a VBAC after 3 c-sections (I know someone who has done it). But it must be so rare that no medical professional will be happy to advise on the risks involved. It is misogynistic crap to hammer her for 'being too posh to push' when the circs are so beyond her control.

But since this is made up nonsense I'm not sure I'm too worried.

It's been on the news this morning that she's going in for a CS today.

As the source of the story was David, on camera, outside the hospital, I think we can rely on the accuracy.

So news os new arrival later today. I hope it all goes well.

I luff her. She's a hoot.

oh good luck to her! I've had 4 sections so feel an affinity with her! Hope she does try to breastfeed, I'd have a huge amount of respect for her for giving it a go.
