I can see a MN meet up in the offing! Unfortunately, as DS is 6, and we're rather a long way from E1, I won't be able to join in grin

what a twunt that man is

not sure about contacting 'officials' for a complaint, but a nice bit of negative feedback on a website might make him re-think his attitude.

where were you again, OP?

You could email a local paper with it to get the cafe named and shamed. The owner does sound as if he was being very offensive. sad

mistlethrush Fri 01-Jul-11 15:52:16

Littlewheel - local papers is a good idea.

I'm sure there'll be someone along soon about what to do about it 'formally' ifyswim.

It doesn't sound as though its actually a very Yummy Cafe on Cheshire Street though.

This is illegal, and he was being offensive. There's more than a touch of racism, there, as well, yes?

You can post your experience here:

You could also speak to a local councillor (not breastfeeding counsellor!) as the local authority may well have a bf friendly policy - and as Yummy's will need a licence for their restaurant this may be relevant.

Do you have a weekly newspaper you could contact?

Good for you, littlewheel. Let us know what happens.

Interesting that the cafe seems to have done it before, according to that review.

whomovedmychocolate Fri 01-Jul-11 16:05:15

Oh please let's go and pelt him with boobie cakes. Please, please please. smile

QueenOfFeckingEverything Fri 01-Jul-11 16:05:23

What a prize knobber angry

It just so happens I am in London next weekend and was intending to take the DC (including my bf 10mo) to Spitalfields on the saturday....

Not that I am suggesting anything. Oh no [innocent]

AuntieMonica Fri 01-Jul-11 16:05:35

Yes, let us know what the newspaper say

which cafe was that again?

was it Yummy's Cafe on Cheshire Street in Brick Lane?

Cosmosis Fri 01-Jul-11 16:06:22

I don’t think I’ll be visiting Yummy’s Café in Cheshire Street, Brick Lane any time soon, with an attitude like that. Stupid, most of the cafes round my way make a large part of their income from bfing women.

whomovedmychocolate Fri 01-Jul-11 16:06:56

I believe it was Yummy's Cafe on Cheshire Street in Brick Lane which was very rude to a breastfeeding mummy AuntieMonica

QueenOfFeckingEverything Fri 01-Jul-11 16:08:33

Yummy's you say? On Cheshire Street?

And the owner is a nasty woman-and-baby-hating tosspot?

mistlethrush Fri 01-Jul-11 16:08:44

Queen, what time do you think you might be in the Cheshire street area then? [looks innocent]

MoonFaceMamaaaaargh Fri 01-Jul-11 16:08:51

Good on you littlewheel. smile

whomovedmychocolate Fri 01-Jul-11 16:09:35
