Infant feeding

Sorry if this is a really simple question - hungry or thirsty?

That's about it really!! Baby is formula fed and in this warm weather (Yep it is warm!! lol) he seems to ask for the bottle rather alot. How can I tell if he is just being greedy and hungry or if he is thirsty? He's nearly 4 months so I'm happy giving him boiled water, but don't want to fill him with water if it's food he needs or vice versa... if you see what I mean. Is it just trial and error?

This seems quite a stupid and simple question compared to the others on this list, but I do want to get it right.

He might be having a growth spurt? I don't think they recommend giving water before they're weaned now, even for bottle fed babies.
