New Gold SMA formula and the non-stop poo...

I've been feeding my DD 4.5 mths old on Gold SMA and they have replaced it with the new formula (and new big price!). DD has pooed constantly for 3 days. About to go out and buy aptimal. Before I do, is this normal for a change in formula and will she go back to 1 poo a day if I wait it out? Aside from poo, nothing else has been affected.

Thanks

Not really sure but when they increased the price I changed to Cow & Gate as it was £1.50 cheaper and they are all much of a muchness. DD pooed a lot and it was quite runny and smelt rather acidic/vinegary. It appears to have calmed down now though after just over a week.

The leaflet inside said something about new fat content (I think? I chucked it out already) and that it might affect their poos but it should settle down after a few days. Not noticed anything different with my DD though, but that's probably because she's 10 months and she eats all sorts which affect it much more! Grin

Apparently formulas are all 'much of a muchness' as Mejon said, though, so you could try changing and see if there's any difference, or just wait a few days and it will settle down on its own?

I changed from Aptamil to SMA staydown and poo did change but for the better.

On Aptamil it was totally liquid all the time but much better on SMA.

I think when I changed the HV said it takes a few days for the old milk to get out of the system so maybe wait a couple of days and see how it goes.

My DD is about the same age and we've just started the new formula and it all seems ok so far. Mind you, we also use gaviscon so that might alter consistency too.

I have switched from SMA Gold to the new advanced formula and haven't really noticed a change. All my books and parenting info strongly advise seeing GP before changing formula.
