My 9-month -old dd has had phases of sleeping through the night, but at the moment wakes once, twice or three times (for example lst night woke at 9.30pm, 11.30pm and 4.40am) and I feed her, and she goes straight back to sleep. Dh and I booked tickets before she was born to go to see Peter Kay, optimistic that baby would be sleeping through at the 9-month stage (she is our third, and niether of the other two did, so goodness knows why we were deluding ourselves!! All along I've thought 'leave it until nearer the time' as she has good phases and bad phases with regards sleeping. We've made it out a couple of times since she was born, but only locally with my Mum babysitting, and she would have phoned us to get us to come home if she had woken.

Now I've got just over a week to get things sorted to leave her from early evening (concert is about an hour's drive away) until I'm not sure what time at night. I've never expressed before (well, tried it with dd#1 so I know I can do it, but she didn't take to it, and as I didn't 'need' to never bothered again). I have a steriliser, glass storage bottles, a tommy tippee bottle with a 6m+ teat. Should I try expressing and get dh to do some feeds? Or would you try to wean her off night feeds this week, or shall we just sell the tickets? (Anyone want two LG Arena tickets for Peter Kay for next week??!!). I'll read all thoughts on this carefully as although I've bf three children over the last four years I've never left them and I'm sure it is possible to do so!! Thanks.

She does not NEED the milk at this point. It will do her no harm to go without for a few hours. So it really depends on whether your mum or whoever is babysitting is prepared to pacify a screaming baby for a few hours if necessary. I would go, but if you do, you have to be able to put DD out of your mind totally, otherwise you will not be able to enjoy it.

What a coincidence. My DD is 16 weeks and we have Peter Kay tickets for the O2 on Thursday! I have been looking for some tips/advice regarding this too. I tried expressing with my hand pump yesterday and got 10ml out Confused I tried again this afternoon and got nothing with the pump but 50ml by hand. This seems so little. I must be doing something wrong. My Mum was going to babysit too. I have not left my DD yet and have been dreading it TBH. We've had the tickets since last year. DH is gutted but I don't think it can be helped.Sorry I can't offer any advice happynappies. I hope someone else can and you get to see Peter Kay. I think he's hilarious!
