It's my friend's birthday party tomorrow night - her 50th so a biggie. Her husband is one of DS's godfathers and she's one of my closest friends although we don't see each other as often as we might as we live 2 hours away from each other now.
At DS's christening he was about 3 months old and BF on demand which at that age meant a lot! My friend's husband felt really awkward about me BFing in front of him and made some "is he feeding again" comments (I ticked the bingo box :) ) It was nothing to do with being able to see anything as I had a muslin covering everything - it was the concept of BFing that made him uncomfortable.
DS is now nearly 11 months and I don't think for a moment that it would have crossed his mind that I'll still be BFing. I suspect that there may be the odd comment more out of surprise than anything else but I'm feeling a bit awkward about how to respond to anything said. I will be taking a scarf because the nursing dress I have isn't that great and while I wouldn't normally use one I just feel in this context it's appropriate.
It's out of character for me to be jittery but I am. Support needed :)
