Infant feeding

Very puzzled - what's causing DS2, 8.5 mo, to throw up at 7.20pm for three days in a row?

As per title, he seems fine all day and then wakes 20 mins after bedtime trying to be sick, is sick (all of bedtime feed and anything he had for supper, which isn't much). Then he seems ok and goes back to sleep. He is exclusively breastfed and nothing seems to have changed in the last few days, he does not seem ill. He isn't sick during either of his daytime naps, though he often feeds before those. Could teething do this? Hoping someone has experienced similar and can reassure!

is he sticking his fingers in his mouth in his sleep?

DD keeps doing this (same age) and making herself gag. A couple of times it has been a close thing as to whether she vomits or not.

If he is teething his gag reflex is probably quite high and he will only need to touch the roof of his mouth to trigger a gag.

If it is that, i have no solution. sorry. Just got to hope that the fascination for exploring their mouths goes away reasonably soon.

thank you, v interesting about the gag reflex. he's always got his fingers in his mouth so maybe it is that plus large milk feed... although he is my second baby I am a complete novice about teething woes as DS1 never seemed to have any issues when his teeth came through weirdly!
