Infant feeding

Is this the 3 month growth spurt?

13 weeks and was getting herself into a nice routine of feeding all evening then falling into a deep sleep around half 9. Last night she fed and cried and had horrid green manky windy nappies until nearly 3am. Thought it was because I'd had 2 strong coffees in the afternoon but no caffeine today. Today she's been fine but same again tonight only less bum action. DS was still screaming all night at this stage so I don't remember noticing anything different!

Well, it could be but she could just be feeling unwell. You are doing the right thing though in just feeding her.

Is her temperature up at all?

very interested in responses as i am wondering the same thing.

slight difference here is that my DS has 2 hours from 9pm then has been up the rest of the night feeding on and off. no green poos though. I am shattered and we'd just got into a really nice routine of him sleeping from 9pm for 8 hours! so good but lasted just 3 nights... DS is also 13 weeks

would love there to be an explanation for it.

Ds went through a 3 month growth spurt. After a few weeks of sleeping 7, 8 or 9 hours he started waking for one or two feeds a night.

He then started sleeping through again until now -he seems to be going through a 4 month growth spurt.

All so different to dd who slept all night every night once she got through colic.

So, yes sounds normal. The green poos too.

Ooooh sorry. Yes, she's fine thanks!

The waters are all a bit muddied, I have quite frequent and troublesome oversupply so green poos are sometimes a normal thing but I felt that it was really under control at that point. Of course with all the wind she was latched on for hours with the result that I have gallons of bloody milk again! I've stayed off caffeine anyway. Quite loving the chamomile tea :)

I have to get inventive about ways to get her to sleep that don't involve feeding. Because she'd choose to feed to sleep, even if there's so much milk that she feeds/chokes/feeds for a few minutes, throws it all up and then starts again. She had two cycles of feed/vomit/try to feed again this morning, just on one boob - that's what happens when we get an 8 hour sleep so not complaining too much! I'm working on a rocking-while-lying-down-and-cuddling technique but she's not buying it ... Grin
