got another question.mousesma said e.g 7oz of water plus 7 scoops of formula would make up 8 oz formula.if this is wrong then how would you make up a 7oz bottle then?
on my formula carton it says 200ml water (7oz) and 7 scoops if thats what they advise then that must be right?

???

6oz water and powder?

but why does it matter to have exactly 7oz? Just make up the amount your baby needs.

i have been breadfeeding and wasnt sure about making up formula. there was people on another thread talking about it. i was just saying as an example 7oz as someone had said

E.G 7oz of water and 7 scoops would make up 8oz and be wrong and hurt babies kidneys. my question was how do you make a 7oz bottle.

No, you must add one scoop of powder per ounce of water. It's just that once you are getting into bigger amounts once you have added the powder it takes the overall volume up and looks more in the bottle. The instructions on the pack are clear - don't add more or less powder - It's always one scoop per ounce of water :)

it says on the carton 1 scoop to 1oz water

yes, that's right - 1 scoop per ounce. So, if you were making up 7 ounces, fill the water to the 7 line and add 7 scoops. It will just look more in the bottle once you've added the powder because you're getting into bigger volumes. But the thing to remember is 1 scoop per ounce. Adding more or less powder per ounce is NOT correct

I don't understand your problem.

1 scoop to 1oz/30ml of water.

So 7 scoops and 7oz of water. This makes up roughly 8oz of formula as the powder has a volume too.

Why would this hurt your babies kidneys?
