I have exclusively breastfed DD1 for six and a half months and over the six weeks I have gradually stopped (and she is fully weaned on 3 meals a day). Its been nearly two weeks since the last feed and my breasts still feel lumpy and sore - especially just below the nipple area - I don't want to express as I want the milk to dry up, nor do I want to feed her as she is very happy on her bottle now, but I'm not sure what to do about this. Is it normal?? I did breastfeed my other two DCs but not for this long and I don't remember it being this uncomfortable. Any advice? P.S. I don't have mastitis as I've had that before I know what if feels like

I'm no expert, but here is what I would do.

Have a nice warm bath or shower and while you're there do some breast massage, especially over the lumpy area. I would hand express just a little until you feel a bit more comfortable. Hopefully this will help and ease the discomfort a bit.
