I took mini-pill before being pregnant and had no periods for three years. Now taking same brand while breastfeeding and have had really heavy, irregular periods until a month or so ago (15 mo of breastfeeding now).

warning

The mini pill is recommended because it doesn't affect milk supply..... This is BULLCRAP!

I was on it... went to get DS weighed about 10 days later HV face Hmm ...HV's words 'have you just started the mini pill? '

He had staid the same (he was about 3 months by the way) I was Shock and said I thought it wasn't meant to affect things but she warned with some women it can - but it IS temporary while your body is getting used to new hormones... took about 2 weeks to adjust I think

Some mothers find their supply is affected by the mini pill. Some mothers find it isn't.

It varies.

The normal pill affects most women's supply, so the mini pill is better.

Some mums find they need to come off the mini pill. At least it's safer than depo, because you can't come off it quickly.
