I am utterly obsessed with my Kindle! I was a book fundamentalist - I thought it was utterly sacrilegious to have an e - reader of any sort but now I have my Kindle, wow! I have changed my opinion. I read things I would never have read and now seem to find it easier to get the time to read, I have no idea how and why. I am buying my Mum one for Christmas, I fear I may never see her again afterwards.....

I'm def reading so much more, but I am spending more money on books than before too! How do you choose books for it? I'm currently going on the recommendations based on what I have read already and so I'm spending between £4-8 a book.
I've read some fab books, and I love the way it gets me reading things that I probably wouldn't have looked at in a bookshop, but it gets pricey!

I'd really recommend The Africa Reich (alternative history thriller) and Before I go to Sleep (another crime/thriller sort, but hard to categorise) and currently reading Into the Darkest corner - about OCD, domestic violence, but rather graphic tbh.
The kindle also took me through a lot of culture, bilographical style books which I really enjoyed - tears behind the veil, prisoner of Tehran, Int he land of Invisible Women.

kw111 - listening books is a brilliant charity that lend listening books who cant read traditional books due to visual impairments, dyslexia, medical conditions etc. It is about £35\£45 a year from memory and you can loan cd mp3 discs, download or stream books from a large library. I think they are brilliant and so helpful

Ooooh yes I love my kindle - especially as I get books for free as well. Its fab isnt it - I used to borrow loads from the library. Only thing is now ds goes to a club there and I sit and wait for him but somehow feel guilty reading on my kindle!

Have you read the Stieg Larsson books? I'm onto the third one and really enjoy them.

No one I've spoken to who has bougha Kindle regrets it... and the books seem so cheap for them too.

...and I'll give those books a try!

I'm reading more than ever too, though to be fair my eyes have deteoriated in the past couple of years making reading books in the evening almost impossible, so love the fact that I can just increase the font size with my kindle.

As for books have you read One Day, sort of Chick Lit though it is written by a man. You might enjoy Wallander too, enjoyed this far more than the tv show.

Yes I am reading loads more. I always read a lot but guilt about the cost of buying books and lack of choice at the library limited the quantities.

I have read over 80 books since I got the kindle in january and have pretty much given up TV altogether.

I recommend Michael Ridpath's Fire and Ice novels, set in Iceland. He has written 2 so far and I can't wait for the third.

Hello. I'm quite frustrated at the moment, as a bit of Internet is as much as I can stomach when it comes to reading at the mo due to bad nausea...and normally I love reading! Have you tried looking on your local Freecycle site for books people want to pass on for free?

I saw Kate Atkinson's Case Histories on the telly last night - highly recommend any of her books actually. Happy reading! smile
