Hi, i have started a blog about my two greatest hobbies and i would welcome any advice on whats good or not on the blog. It's all about cooking meals from scratch from the reduced produce at the supermarket, reductions times, bargain alerts bla bla bla....
Its called www.reducedgrub.com or Reducedgrub1 on instagram.
I've linked it to twitter, FB, instagram etc and i would really like to get an interest going, as i feel passionate about feeding your family well for less.
I look forward to hearing any suggestions.
kindest regards
Kelly xx

Ok...my very first impression is the overall look...the first glance. It looks a bit too spare to me...too minimalist and not warm or welcoming which could be improved with a different layout and colours. There's too much white on the page.

I also feel that your "about me" is a bit negative...

and a constant stream of convenience crap is not only full of rubbish but expensive. (check out the ingredients!!!

Although that's true, you'll want your blog to appeal to all kinds of people from all walks of life and a LOT of people rely on convenience foods unfortunately.

So I would lean on the positive in my writing style if I were you...

Photography...some of the meals aren't looking as appetising as they might do...something to do with the colours maybe. Use a filter?

Thanks, i see your point Matt. I am having trouble putting photos up on the homepage, and i agree it would make it look less white and spacious, i will make it my todays task to try and do that.
Thanks for the pointers, will try and sound more positive xxx

If you look at the blogs that do really well, most of them have been proofread (I don't mean they pay a professional, just that somebody has read the post and removed stray capital letters/added them where they should be, sorted out commas and typos, etc). You don't need professional level use of semicolons but it shouldn't look as though it has been thrown up in a rush. I agree that your photographs need a little work, too - try out some filters and if you can organise for them to look like they've been taken in natural light rather than electric, that helps.

Viewed on phone...
I like the Orange and teal
The recipes are quite different and unique, which is great
I like your writing style
I like that you have lots of photos of the process, not just the end product

Things to improve
Some photos are too dark. I think the composition is good. Have you considered making your own light box? Not hard at all and lots of dit how tos if you Google.
Your categories need work. The recipes section should have sub categories based on ingredient. They should also be listed in a more compact way. Also reduction times could just be one table that is easy to view.
Titles should be more consistent eg recipe name, serving, price. With capital letters and punctuation the same each time.
Maybe different types of post (recipe, product reduction, reduction time) could be differentiated by colour somehow.
