Ad Sense and blog

Hi, not sure if this is the right place to post. I've started blogging in November (it's a product reviews blog) and last night I was delighted that I could apply for Ad Sense. After submitting my application, straight away ads automatically appeared on my blog, but after an hour where the ads were are now just a blank space. Has my application been approved because I can sign in the Ad Sense account or am I still waiting for approval? I'm completely new to blogging and have no ideas at all.

I'm not sure what's happened there but when I signed up for Adsense I had to actually insert the ad space manually on my dashboard. Maybe they're changing the ads over as they seems to be related to what you last looked at and they change all the time.

Hi, how do I manually insert an ad space? I remember I had to choose a format (out of three) of where to place the ads.

I think I have to copy and paste an ad code in order for the ads to appear but I don't know how.

I'm on Wordpress so this is how I do it:

Go into your dashboard, then click appearance and widgets. Find the space you require ( i.e banner, sidebar), then open up Adsense in a separate window and go into My ads and click on new ad unit. Choose the one you want (pick recommended), copy the code, and paste it into the text box under the widget space you want it in on your dashboard. Click save. On your site it might be blank for a while but then you will see ads appear.

Good luck!

Thanks, I'm on Blogspot. Hopefully, it's similar to Wordpress.

I've found adsense to be the most user unfriendly thing I have ever used in my life. I've got ads up quite easily, but there are 1001 other settings and options I have no clue about. Took nearly a month for my page to be approved. (Still not been accepted by Mumsnet though Sad)

Don't forget to turn off Adblock when viewing your page. (Mistake I was making for a bit)

To insert an ad manually go into layout, click add a gadget, pick adsense, save/accept. Then go into earnings and click show ads.

Hi white coconut, what sort of products do you review? Do you review candles?

I review everything I got at home. Only started in November so have not got many visitors yet. I also write reviews on Ciao.

Thanks TiggyD. That's what I did. The ad space is now blank, just waiting for approval from Ad Sense.

Adblock is a thing you download to stop ads popping up everywhere. I forgot I had it on and couldn't see my own ads. There's a red 'button' in my browser bar with ADB on it. If you don't have ad block, don't try to turn it off until you've installed it. A great program that everyone should get.
