This is so wrong and the Parish council haven't done anything about it for 3 months.

Here in Great Shelford/Cambs. They built a recreational building next to the Kids playground and were meant to turf all the works damage.

Instead Ian Kydd, [email protected] decided to fill it with glass filled glass just 2 foot away from the bare footed kids playing. Putting grass seed on the rubble, instead of turf as promised, hoping No one would notice the Glass.

It's not only a danger to the Children but also dogs that run over it.

I complain every week because it's not right only to be phobed off.

It's not right.

If you knew how much Parish Councils have to do for no money at all, you would be straight out there with your bucket and gloves. Just saying. It will cost a lot, from a very small precept, to clear this up. The more volunteers help in villages, the better. All your councillors are volunteers- do you expect them to go out and pick it up?

Don't let children run around barefoot on the playing field. There could be remnants of fox, cat and dog dung apart from sharp things.

Your PC gets £7.68 per household to do A LOT of things. I can tell that you are genuinely worried about this, but you have to understand how much more work your PC has been doing for the last few years ("Big Society" means devolving all public sector work to volunteers).

How about setting up a "Friends of the Recreation Ground" with a few volunteers, with the doubtless grateful support of your parish council, instead of griping in a passive-aggressive way on a parenting site?

Just in case you hadn't seen this explanation of what happens to huge amount you pay to PC.

Don't mind me, I'm a Devon parish councillor currently on sabbatical because I'm fecked off with doing an extra 25-30 hours a week unpaid on top of the day job and bringing up my children, and getting only an earful of complaint and abuse in return. Our parish council is a power house of volunteers and our village is extremely fortunate to have the range of skills and enthusiasm it has on the council.

I agree parish councils have no money, some of the councillors work very hard for the local community.

Such people get nothing, but stick from the village expecting miracles the county council being a pain and other parish councillors (member e's of other village bodies) who haven't two brain cells to rub together and love the sound of their own voices.
