Salmon spread is great for a pink and white theme. Don't know if you consider that junk food?

Depending on your dd's tastes - and whether you can be bothered to make it - either make it yourself or just buy Shippams from the supermarket.

One thing that works really well for children's party is to do a roulade.

  1. Get an unsliced loaf of white bread and remove all the crusts. You need one of the tin loaves - not one of the fancy round shape ones.

  1. Cut slices of bread lengthways. So you're cutting the bread horizontally, from left to right. Not from top to bottom like you would do normally.

  1. Butter the slice of bread and put as much spread on them as you want.

  1. Then, with the long edge towards you, roll the bread away from you to create a roll - think of making something like jam roly-poly. It can often be helpful to use cling film when doing this.

  1. Chill in the fridge for an hour or so to firm it up. Then remove from cling film and cut into slices. This will give you whirls of pink salmon spread in the white bread roulade.

What about pink white and green? It would give you more food options and it would look gorgeous.
