estranged father?

I'm looking for help on writing a letter to my father, I have recently found out that my fathers mother has passed away and my father is in jail, I never knew my father growing up. I met him when I was 13 and then didn't see him again until I was 18. I had my first child at 19 and moved out West to stay with my father until I got my own place. A month after being out there his wife got a hair up her butt about something my dad had done and had told him she would leave if I didn't. So he put me and my 1 year old out on the street in a state I didn't know anyone... I've been thinking about writing him because I don't want something to happen where I wouldn't have that opportunity again. I just don't know if I should voice all the anger I have towards him or if I should just keep ignoring him as I have done the last 6 years. Any thoughts may help, I'm lost.
