No idea what stage 2 weaning is??

My DS has no dairy I just gave him whatever I had avoiding things like cheese sauces etc.. And things like mash I put a little bit of pure spread which is a vegetable oil spread I don't feel like a need to do specific dairy free things just adapt slightly unless it's something like cakes you would need egg free recipe I substitute butter in cakes with the pure spread and they come out just fine!

Stage 2 is finger-foods, so I'd suggest googling "vegan baby-led weaning" for recipe or food ideas. ;) Just avoid anything containing soya. x

Spaghetti bolognaise -

Punnet of cherry tomatoes, 1 small onion, 1 red pepper & a quarter clove of garlic - in lidded pyrex dish roughly chopped and microwaved for approx. 13 minutes. Blend this mixture once warm and add either minced beef or chopped chicken with spaghetti.

messy, but doable. My son has liked it from when he was weaned to date.

snacks - boots organic apple rice cakes are lovely.
other items - a company called orgran produce really good bread, cake mix, etc for allergy suffers. A staple in our kitchen.

I have to do dairy/soya/tomato free.

Tonight I made veggie muffins from this page.

I didn't use the parmesan obvs. And made sure the bread was suitable.

BTW, Aldi do wholemeal bread which is dairy and soya free - think it is Village Bakery.

A lot of the part baked breads are also dairy/soya free.

I'm not 100% sure what age we are talking? 7 months? Finger foods?

Other things we have tried are homemade potato cakes, rice with chicken peas and sweetcorn. He enjoys picking up peas and sweetcorn to eat them!

I've made pasta sauce (I think you can get/make egg free pasta?) just blending veg and mixing.

Have you tried the cheese alternatives such as cheesly to make cauli cheese etc? I did but mine hated it gaaah! I've also done mini chipolata sausages (be careful - some have egg and soya in!) I get some from Asda from their extra special range which are 90% pork. I team that with mash, or sweet potato mash and finger food veg.

I'll try and think of some more things. We haven't got a huge repertoire yet. :( It's a pain in the ass!

Do you use vitalite spread? We use that for cooking/baking and oat milk for on cereals/cooking.

Oh, I just found out that puff pastry is dairy/soya/egg free. I haven't made anything with it yet (the jus-roll stuff - I could probably make some, but I'm lazy okay?!).

I'll come back if I think of anything useful! Or if this isn't what you were after - please tell me, I'll think of other stuff! Grin
