Haha. No, my two were nothing like as large as that bundle of joy! Mine were just over 6 lbs and 6.5 lbs. I reckon I would probably be quite traumatised if big babies ran in my family. :p Fortunately (considering we are small ish people) up to 7 lbs is quite normal for us - my cousin just had her first at about 6.1 lbs. If you're a tall person, then you are more likely to a have a big baby. I think, scientifically, it's to do with how much "room" you have to grow them. Your body can only stretch so much, so you end up having the size of baby that your body can physically accommodate. And if you don't... thank goodness for modern medicine and the availability of c-sections! Maternal death is thankfully rare in this part of the world. :)

Am only 5ft2" and normally 8 1/2 stone, so also only little, was estimated a 7lb baby. However she arrived as a 7lb 13oz, no damage to me though and was all over in about 2 hours :)

Ds was 9lb 2, dd was 10lb 4!
I'm only 5ft 5, and both were born vaginally, with a little help from some forceps, 75 hours after my waters broke, after 30 odd hours of active labour, and 4 hours in the final pushing stage, with Ds.
Dd was a two hour water birth with gas and air only, but maybe after Ds, I was a bit stretched. Grin

my mum was 13 pounds at birth, in the 1940s, I feel very sorry for my grandmother! Big babies run in the family!
