On leading by example when it comes to teaching body image to children...

Lovely post!

I think this is something my own mother did really well. She never dieted. She never ever commented on her size or the size of anyone else. She never gave the impression of fussing over her appearance. She never read glossie mags either. I think I am remarkably rare amongst my friends for having never had significant body insecurity, beyond normal teenage mild concerns about everything growing at the right rate! I've never been on a diet either. I am not vain enough to think my body is perfect - but I really don't care what other people think of it, the thought barely ever passes through my head. I think this is truly a wonderful gift to pass to your children and I would want to follow your example too when mine arrive.
