Boff's on telly on Monday!

In case you want to see da Boff in da flesh, thereby ensuring I am in fact not a hairy trucker, I am on Channel 4 'Superscrimpers' at 8.30pm on Monday 4th March. I filmed eight housekeeping and cookery tips for them last month, and I gather at least one will appear in the programme tomorrow. I am the Scrimper in the pink frock called Sandra.

Occasionally I wear a frilly pinny for some tips, but let it be known this was under duress and in RL I am no nearer being a Stepford Wife than Jo Brand is.

Also I wanted to tell everyone who missed it last time and posted their distress, that my Austerity Housekeeping eBook is free on Amazon from about lunchtime tomorrow for 24 hours, if you want to download it. It can be read on any PC, laptop, Kindle, iPhone or iPad, so you don't need a special gadget.

Austerity Housekeeping

If you do download it, it would be lovely if you could post a review! Grin

New projects include a parenting eBook, nice 'n' cheap like the housekeeping one, and possibly some more Channel 4 filming later in the month, on spring cleaning this time. I've got an author page on Amazon now, and I will try to start putting all this stuff in there, to keep everyone up to date.

Smile Smile Very cool news! I took a quick peek in the 'look inside' button, and I am looking forward to reading it. I am a frugaler, and love looking for tips and ideas.

Fantastic, Boff, you are really making waves. This is to remind me to record it tomorrow. (Was going to add that I love the blog, but that just sounds too craven Grin ) V tempted by the ebook offer, though.

Did you mention bargains for buying naice ham or how to get shit off a pouffe on a budget? Grin

Hi Boff - can you edit the Amazon blurb? There's a comma in place of a dot in your blog address which means you can't just cut and paste it...

Very impressive!

Morning. We're going to move this thread to Bloggers now, as that's where it really belongs.

And for you, BoffinMum! How brilliant!

KateMumsnet (who runs the Mumsnet Bloggers Network) is just mailing you. I suspect she wants you to file a new blogpost so she can plaster you all over our Bloggers front page...

Grin

It is apparently one of the more boring tips in tonight's episode, namely the one where I cleaned the director's boots for him. He was a little mortified when I pointed out they were the most disgusting in the room so the best ones to use for the tip. Grin I even deoderised them for him off screen. Grin

BTW Vairy interesting factoid - the director used to mow Martha Stewart's lawn when he was a teenager!!

Better tips come in later episodes, I believe, including one where one of the miniboffs appears and scoffs porridge I have pimped, plus the infamous lentil and bacon soup moment where the film crew were practically salivating over all the equipment until they were allowed to descend on it and polish it off completely (sadly off screen again!) Grin

  1. Adora - I don't know, it might be on 4OD in a few weeks time. Look for Series 4.
  2. There is a MN coded phrase in the book (of COURSE). 50 points to Gryffyndore for any MNetter who spots it.
  3. Bargains for naice ham would be to ask the butchers for the trimmings when they have finished slicing a big one up. Shit off a pouffe, well you need some 1001 if it's light coloured, or some shampoo if it's dark coloured, and an old toothbrush. Don't scrub too hard and don't use too much of the cleaning product. And wear pants next time GrinGrin
  4. Bramshott, Ta, I had not noticed that.
  5. HelenMN - Ta, probably a better place for the thread, thanks.
  6. Chaos - I have a version of that name in RL but I have to keep my housekeeping persona a bit separate from my university lecturer persona. The university press office think this whole thing is hilarious, by the way. Grin
