I've just checked my stats on my blogger blog, the bit where you can see where the traffic is coming from and I'm a little concerned. I'm just wondering if I should be or if its just spam (I have photos of my children on my blog)

One of the referring urls and one of the referring sites is called livepornfeeds. I clicked on it to see what it is and there are some explicit pictures. I didn't stick around for long as both my children are in the room so I don't really know what it is.

Does that mean my blog has been posted on the site? one of my photos (which are mainly of my children) has been posted on the site? or is it just someone has visited there before coming to me? I'm so confused. the rest are all websites I would expect as I've linked my blog to those (Facebook, Mumsnet, Google, a friends blog etc)

I'm actually feeling sick but wondering if maybe I'm over reacting and actually its all ok.

Not sure , I think they are just ways to get you to click on the site. I occasionally get similar ones, not usually porn, but random website with no mention of my blog on there. Is it just one or two referrals?

its just one, but I did see another porn site as well so I'm thinking you might be right?

its just because of the photos that I panicked a little I think

I would bet it's a SPAM bot.

I don't know how blogger really works, is their a SPAM blocker?

I'm not sure, I'll have to do some searching I think.

I cant find anything that would block spam, but I have found out that blogger has inbuilt spam blockers.

I also realised the other day I had 2 or 3 random comments from 'anonymous', they weren't even related to my blog. All my comments are moderated and I generally don't publish anonymous comments so I deleted them.

I didn't even consider that these may be related, but I think you're right, it was a couple of spam bots coming from those sites, leaving random comments and leaving again.

Thanks for your help

Spam and traffic are not the same thing. If you have a lot of traffic from those sites it's worth to check backlinks to your site. If you find it (as far as I know it's bad for your site to have such backlinks), I don't know what to do, but you could try Google for the answer. If it is just the spam - kill it even if it leads to normal sites. It's kiind of easy to spot - general comments which could be posted anywhere, no connection to the post, sometimes the title automatically inserted in the comment (normal people never do that). If you see a lot of spam from the same IP - just block that IP.

thanks zanda am looking at backlink checker tools now. I have a decent spam filter, I went and checked it and found I had 87 spam comments so it was just a few that got through! All comments are also moderated so I dont have any spam posted directly to the blog.

Then it should be OK. Just kill the spam.

Another thing is worth to do is checking "site health" on Google webmaster tools. It shows if there is any maleware on the site. Never happened to me and I don't know how free services (blogger, wordpress.com) deal with it but with selfhosting it is your problem/responsibility.
