I?m struggling with this ? after some initial technical difficulties I managed to contact Bloggers Admin who told me to send them my details and they would manually sign me up. This was on the 17th October and I?ve heard nothing since. I?ve just checked and I?m not listed on the Bloggers Network so shall I assume I?ve been unsuccessful?
What happens when you are accepted?

Grrrrrrrrr. I actually have quite a nice blog. I'm rather proud of it in fact.

I would apply again - sometimes the applications slip through the net (mine did initially) drop them an email maybe...

Report this thread to MN and they'll respond pretty quick, I'm sure.

Although maybe not on a Saturday night!

Thanks for your replies!

Haha ZombTEE are you implying that MN are on the gin?

I will report and send them another email. it's likely that it has been overlooked, in which case I will send my email in MASSIVE BOLD TYPEFACE

Ah, they've likely misplaced your application behind the booze cabinet

Give them a wee shove and they will get back to you.

Can you link to your blog? Quietly, we won't tell anyone...

Yes, yes I can. It is here theluckyapple.wordpress.com/

If you click on the title 'Black Dogs and Bell Jars' in the top left corner by the title you can read my post on PND which gives the blog some context. Marain Keyes recently called it 'Utter Brilliance'. Squeeeeeeee!

The other posts are charting my attempts to improve my wellbeing without resorting to the doublespeak and distortion of the beauty industry. It details all the little changes I'm trying to make to nuture my mental health a little bit.

Really hope you like it!

I am not surprised that Marian Keyes called it 'utter brilliance'. It is.

Off to read some of the other posts now.

Wonderful, thank you. I've come in for some criticism for writing it though, but I imagine that is to be expected. I normally handle criticism by hurling my computer through a wall taking a deep breath but I find it hard not to leap to my own defence. Is that you on twitter? If so thank you for tweeting, that's very kind.

It is me.

You do what is right for you, and those who criticise will just have to lump it. It is so good when people share information like this, about their feelings and their emotions. It helps those who are in a similar place to recognise that there is a way out.

And it helps those who love people with depression better understand and support them.

Wow.

That was incredible to read.

Been there, done that, not postnatally but in general, about 20 years ago and I thank the universe every day as I pop my pills.

You may not need to be on them forever. [hgrin]

Really a very brave post and a great read.

Hi, I think it's fabulous too, they definitely haven't overlooked you on purpose just give them a nudge :)
Really brave of you for sharing all of this and I'm sure it's going to be very helpful to lots of other people - keep writing x

Thanks all, I know I've said it before but a chemical imbalance in the body does not equal a weakness in the mind. I think its important to make people aware of that as there is such a stigma attached to mental health and I've had lots of positive feedback from that post (amongst the criticism).

Just off to look around MN blogs myself now, and am really looking forward to reading more stuff. Links please if you can!

Ah! I recognise your blog, I've read it before, and really enjoyed it. Love JUMP! too, think I linked a few friends with suitably aged daughters to it. Wonderful stuff.

busty I just clicked the link to your blog. I love that post, but. at the same time almost wish I had not read it. It reminds me of things I don't necessarily want to think about. It makes me feel nervous, for I recognise some of the things there, but I 'ignore it so it will go away' as you put it.

Great post Smile

Pavlov I absolutely know what you mean - I think it has the potential to be quite triggering in some ways and lots of people have said it makes for uncomfortable reading.

Thank you for doing so though, and even though it made you nervous I hope you got something from it, or just killed a few minutes.

Oh I hope you don't take it as a criticism Shock it was beautifully written, not all posts can make people feel that way. Yes, it is in part because those feelings are those that people might feel and push to the back of their mind, but also because of how you evoked those feelings in how you wrote. I have read other people speaking of things that are close to my own heart and I can walk away from that post not relating.

BustyDeLaGhetto · 29/10/2012 22:16

Sorry Pavlov, I meant to put a Smile in there so you could see I was being nice. Absolutely did not take it as a criticism. You'd know if I did because I would have kicked my computer to the moon (I don't take criticism very well!)

Dammit Busty, you're raising the bar! It's hard enough to get people to read my blog without "utter brilliance" to compete with. Grin

ZombTee, I'm also an American expat and your blog makes me giggle.

Ha fuzzypickle, I also struggle to get traffic (and will continue to struggle unless MN SIGNS ME UP TO SODDING BLOODY BLOGGERS) and I'm pretty sure that 70%of the Visitor Stats on my blog is me, clicking on it endlessly to see what the stats are Blush
