probably all me! but yey!

just one question for wordpress users, how do I add posts to each different page? I have a new page, and each post defaults to the home page. not sure how to stop that as some need to go into new page and subsequent new pages as I create them.

woohoo and 5 people following, and not all MNers either. on a roll. not yet thousands per day, not that good! but that is 300 times people have chosen to read what i have to say, and 5 people like it enough to want to read more. A Good Day.

It's not very common to put things onto different pages, if they are all blog posts. More common to tag and categorize appropriately.

MmeLindor Sun 07-Oct-12 09:35:35

Yay. Glad to hear that it is going well.

You can set up the posts to go to pages as categories, I think. Will have to look at how I have done it on Jump! Mag, but there is a way. Will have a look and see what you are looking for.

ZombTEE Sun 07-Oct-12 11:38:17

Now that I think about this, I think if you make each of your Categories into pages, when you mark your posts as those Categories, it will put them on the pages.

Sorry I was half asleep earlier!

ZombTEE Sun 07-Oct-12 11:50:15

You know what? That's not right either.

I have no idea. Interesting idea, though. I'll MmeL figure it out and tell you.

Now I'll have to figure it out, though.

MmeLindor Sun 07-Oct-12 12:04:08

I've no time to look today but will come back tomorrow. I thinks that's how I've done it on jump!

Pavlovthecat Mon 08-Oct-12 12:49:12

thanks for helping everyone!
Alas my blog has become less of a traffic jam and more of a quiet country road grin not sure why. Will figure it out over the coming weeks as my gp has told me in no uncertain terms I am not to be going back to work for the time being due to probs with meds and pain.

I had terrible back pain for years, the NHS was useless. Saw a consultant who asked what might make my back 'go' (it was prolapsed disc(s) ) and I said could be anything, eg picking up a shopping back, bending to pick up a book etc etc (I knew how it had been damaged) and he said 'well I suggest you don't do that then' then left the room!!! I was 25!!! Eventually I ended up completely unable to stand a couple of times (especially when pregnant) sort of collapsed on the floor. I had seen chiropractors before with some brief successes (they'd fix me but then it would go again), but then found this amazing one and he completely mended my back. When I get stressed now I can still get pain, but I haven't ended up unable to stand, or collapsed on the floor, or with sciatica for oooh about 13 years! Unfortunately that was when we were in London, or I'd give you his contact details, although your problems sound more complicated than my prolapse. Sympathy though, it's awful.

Here's mine:

Hi saintlyjimjams,

I LOVE your blog! My son was diagnosed with dyspraxia and 'somewhere else on the autistic spectrum', doctors weren't sure quite where. He's doing ok at the moment, but we have been through some awful times. Your blog is lovely and optimistic.

I'm fairly new to this whole thing, but eventually got online to come to terms with being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis this year. Sounds heavy, but I'm hoping my blog is funny, honest and a bit of light relief.....

would love to hear opinions (good and bad!) about it if anyone has time to check it out:

Hope to meet lots of you at Blogfest! Choochy x

Bring him surfing choochy smile

I'd imagine a blog will be a good way to get in contact with others with MS. I've always found finding a few people in the same situation that you like is such a good way to deal with difficult times.

choochy Wed 10-Oct-12 10:00:22

Funnily enough, after years of him being totally averse to water, he now loves it! Took him to Barafundle Bay last year and couldn't get him out the water, lol.
You're right about getting in touch with other people with MS, especially younger people. A lot of the support groups round here are full of people a whole lot older than me, so it can be hard. I think my blog is my way of sorting through things, getting them out my head!

I love surfing too! well, that is not technically true as I can't surf! I prefer body boarding as I can vaguely do that. Well honestly I can't do that either at the moment, but did go once this year, in September, when I was having an ok spell I maxed my pain relief, suffered for a few days, but it was worth it for the magical moment of catching the same wave as my 6yo DD, looking at each other and grinning as we surfed onto the sand. Amazing. I would happily have been layed up for a week to have that moment.

I have so much to do today. But I suspect I am mostly going to be reading blogs wink

sjj I don't think there is much more huge stuff going on with my back than with yours, it is just taking a bloody long time to get over it, and every time I make progress it 'goes' again and back to square one. What I don't get, is that I have constant pins and needles in my foot and leg, which has spread to my thigh, so for example when I wake up the leg is mostly like when you arm has been slept on, gradually get feeling again as I move around, but always pins and needles there - i don't get that they are happy to deal with this via medication. I have been told 'if your foot goes numb, or your leg, then that is a problem and will have to be looked at' but, if that happens then there is a good chance that means the damage has become permanent. I don't get why they don't want to fix it before damage is permament, as clearly the nerve is entrapped. But, I have little strength to fight at the moment, and am just enjoying being vaguely pain free.

I am cautious about chiropractors, discussed with a neurosurgery linked physio as I have been recommended the same person by several people in my town, he told me that it could help, but there was a real risk that any manipulation could completely rupture the disc, i was like shock But, i might go for a consultation at least and talk to them. I am probably to mention all this in my blog today as I been thinking about a few things.

Wow, long. I am not good at doing short!

Thanks Pavlovthecat! Lovely to have positive feedback.

saintlyjimjams Wed 10-Oct-12 11:29:41

Yes we're at Bigbury most weekends smile

I've used the chiropractors in Mannamead before. They rescued me once when I was unable to stand, before I found my London one - but I wasn't warned about exploding discs in my case so hesitate to recommend anyone!

saintlyjimjams Wed 10-Oct-12 22:58:25

OOOOH pavlov I think I want to do the one mile charity swim in September as well. I think that's the one a friend always does (which didn't run this year???) and I said I'd join her sometime. Who does it fundraise for?

saintlyjimjams Wed 10-Oct-12 22:59:36
