Preschool Acceptance

Hi, we have just had confirmation of our son being accepted into preschool starting 7th September 2012. However, we are going on holiday the following monday-friday (10th-14th). Will he still be able to attend this preschool even though he is going to need a few days off as soon as he starts or will the preschool advise us to cancel the holiday (even though we will lose our payment). This holiday has been booked since February 2012. He will still be able to attend the monday & friday sessions as we are staying in the country & can leave later & come home earlier so he will only be missing 3 days. We are worried he will miss out on things though.
Many thanks in advance

They'll probably advise you to cancel, and it isn't ideal timing. But they can't withdraw the place, surely?

Maybe ask about settling in - if there's a staggered intake, maybe he could be one of the last to start?

I would be hugely surprised if they did anything drastic. It not ideal but it's not the end of the world either.
It's preschool so it's not a legal issue.
Children often start at different times as places become available don't they?

He may just need a bit more time than the other children to settle in (what is their settling in policy?). I doubt the pre-school will do anymore than say "oh that's a shame". He's little, small child could miss the start of pre-school through illness, and they should be able to help him settle in quickly and ensure he doesn't miss out on anything.
